2048 is a popular single-player sliding block puzzle game created by Gabriele Cirulli in 2014, indirectly inspired by Threes.

How to Play

Use your Arrow keys or Swipe on touchscreens to move all tiles in four directions (Up, Down, Left, Right).

When two tiles with the same number touch, they merge into one with double the value (e.g., 2 + 2 = 4, 4 + 4 = 8, 8 + 8 = 16).

After every move, a new tile (2 or 4) randomly appears in an empty spot on the board.

You win when you successfully create a 2048 tile! You can keep playing to achieve even higher scores like 4096 or 8192.

Pro Tips & Strategies

Keep your largest tile in a corner: Choose one corner (like bottom-right) and build your highest numbers there.

Keep a snake chain: Build descending tiles next to your highest tile (e.g., 2048 → 1024 → 512 → 256).

Avoid moving in your weak direction: If your main corner is bottom-left, try to avoid pressing UP whenever possible so your top row doesn't collapse.
